Renaissance awards construction contract to Douglas OHI

 

Renaissance Services SAOG (Renaissance) has awarded a significant construction contract to Douglas OHI as part of a US$28.6 million expansion plan for various Renaissance owned and operated facilities serving the oil & gas sector.

The Douglas OHI assignment is to build additional accommodation and recreation facilities at the Renaissance Permanent Accommodation for Contractors (PAC) facilities in Oman’s oilfields at Fahud, Qarn Alam and Nimr.

Renaissance currently has over 1,000 rooms in the PAC facilities and this project will increase the accommodation capacity by some 33% as well as adding new swimming pools, squash courts and gymnasia.

The PAC projects have been developed under contract to Petroleum Development Oman LLC (PDO) to accommodate oilfield contractors. According to Renaissance CEO Stephen Thomas “the PAC facilities are a world class best practice in how to accommodate large workforces safely and efficiently in remote environments. It is a best practice developed here in Oman. The PACs deliver higher standards at lower costs achieved through economy of scale”. Renaissance clients at the PAC facilities are leading companies serving the Oman oil sector.

The Renaissance PAC Project won the Oman Awards for Excellence “Investment Project of the Year” in 2001. “This expansion of the project will add further value to that investment for all stakeholders from the end of 2007” said Thomas.
